weird how it works over an 82 game season. On Tuesday, Pittsburg looked like a legitimate Cup contender with solid defense and excellent goaltending. Thursday was the exact opposite. Jarry letting uncontested shots from the blue line in and the defense letting the Kings stand around in the crease. You're right, flush this one! |

pens rarely play well on these west coast trips, plus LA isnt the LA team of old they are pretty solid this season. |

Pens looked gassed from the get-go and that's not to take away from the Kings. It would have been a tough game regardless. They were sharp and aggressive on both ends of the ice. Mind you, I only watched the first period, but looking at NST, it appears the trend continued.
Missing Heinen, McGinn and Rust are definitely clear right now, but it's no different than any other team in the NHL. They've banked a good number of points and have a nice cushion to drop some.
The main plus I noticed in the first is that Zohorna is FLYING right now. I know the knock has been his physical ability with puck, but I thought it did a decent job along the walls when he had the puck.

I think games like last night show how important it is to fix our backup goalie situation. I think ideally you want to split starts between goalies when you have two games in three days in a different time zone. Not that it would have changed the end result of last night but 4 goals in a period is a very rough outing for Jarry and you can’t have that. |

No goalie was going to change the outcome of that game Jarry played well despite the 6 goals he gave up Whether it is by 4 goals or by one goal it is still only one loss Move on and quit complaining |

Relax dude I'm not complaining I'm making an observation. IDGAF about one loss. It's pretty clear we're gonna make the playoffs and don't have a realistic shot at beating Carolina for the devision so it's all the same. What I'm concerned about is that goalies are headcases and not being able to keep Jarry fresh and keep him away from high goals against performances because you can't trust your backup at all isn't good. |

They'll basically do what they did to MAF all those years. I'd love to see them bring in Allen from MTL, but the cost is probably too much for the Pens. |

Too bad they dont have a Matt Murray (version 2016) to actually pull that off...

Domingue should start Saturday. His numbers are pedestrian on mostly bad teams. Like it or not he is Option One in the backup goalie plan.
You're right in that Jarry should've had two scheduled off days on this trip. I know it's hindsight but the dynamics changed when DeSmith stunk up the building against St. Louis.

From the highlights it looked like the Carter line was still producing chances. That’s a plus. |

Highlights you say? Is that a record for how much you've watched a game this year?

Holy cow the Kings looked good.
I used to be season seat holder (Gretzky days). My kids were born in Santa Monica. They're Kings fans.
Hearing Bob Miller's voice in that video was pretty powerful to me. I'll always love him and Mike Lange. Was fortunate to listen too many games called by them. |

Maybe they wait and give CdS ONE LAST game. I think I'm on your side of this though as in enough is enough. You gotta try something else at this point. It's early but screw it, try Filip Lindberg. |

The kings recent Stanley cup teams were probably my favorite of the cap era. Every line just pummeled with speed and borderline violent forechecking, with just enough scoring touch to put the puck in. A thing of beauty really. |

Hasn't Lindberg been out for some time?

Lindbwrg was week-to-week a few weeks back. Haven't heard an update since.
Also he has a grand total of 7 pro games; not sure I'd count on him as plan A, B, or C. |

As far as I know, Linberg has yet to return. He was part of the plan when he was signed in the off season. This injury was back in Mid-November, completely derailing him for this season. He's signed thru next season, no need to rush him at this point.

Detroit is in 9th and only on pace for like 80 points. It’s pretty safe that the 8 east teams are all but set. |
